Happy June, Everyone! I’ve got a few things to report this month. Some personal, some book stuff. I’d say that it’s a happy balance. Let’s start with the personal stuff:
Renovating our master bathroom. Healthy, but still working toward remission. Read some good books. Reactivated my Facebook account. Planning a beach vacation.
Okay, let’s get to the good stuff!
A few weeks ago, I had decided to take a break from writing my forth book, SoulCatcher. My ideas were beginning to get all jumbled, and I just needed a break. This was when I made the decision to “revamp” The Turning Series.
I started writing these books in 2014. I had never written a book in my life when I published Turning Grace. I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t hire a professional editor or a cover designer or a formatter. I did everything myself, with the help of my husband and a few beta readers.
Despite the fact that I had won awards and even managed to collect some great reviews and a few fans, I was never truly happy with those books. I always felt like they could be better. And because of this, I decided to unpublish my books and do everything the right way. Also, I’ve grown quite a bit as a writer over the years. My style of writing has changed—in a good way, I think.
For my few fans out there, don’t worry, the story is NOT going to change. I’m just simply…sprucing it up a bit.
As of right now, I don’t have a re-release date for the first book. However, it is in the hands of an editor and I’m thrilled! And maybe a little scared. I feel like I might have an insane amount of errors.
In a couple of weeks, I will be working with a very talented cover designer and formatter. Soooooo, the release of my first revamped book should be sometime in late July or early August.
I’ve been a busy little bee doing rewrites and edits on my former books but as soon as I’m done with those, I’ll be able to set them aside and finish working on SoulCatcher.
Who said writing books was going to be easy?!?! Because it’s definitely not. It’s actually torture sometimes, but I love doing it!
I will be sure to keep you all updated on my writing (and my master bathroom). In the meantime, I hope you all have a happy month!
