Mondays are hated by so many.
And I wanna know…why?
Okay, well there is the obvious. It’s Monday. After the nice two-day weekend of relaxing, hanging out with friends, or sleeping in late, you now have to wake up early and worry about what you are going to wear to work or school and think about more serious things like a deadline or an assignment or studying.
And if you don’t like your job or your teacher or the people you must be surrounded by for the next four days, you have to hold your tongue, be kind when you don’t want to be, and listen to crap you’d rather not listen to…like what your co-worker did over the weekend, which was not very interesting, or the office drama from last week or a lecture on the history of who cares because it’s history.
Yes, Mondays can be all about dragging your ass to where ever you have to be when clearly all you wanna do is get back to your bed.
But why is that? Monday is just like any other day of the week. Just like the other four days that come behind it. You still have to wake up at the same time, go to the same job or school, and see the same people.
The good thing about Mondays is that it’s usually marked as a time to start something new or fresh. If you had an awful week before this one, don’t worry because it’s a new week. Things could turn around. How about it you want to start a new diet? A Monday would be a great day to begin keeping yourself on track.
And don’t forget about other things Mondays are awesome for…like TV. New episodes of 2 Broke Girls, Mike and Molly, and Sleep Hollow air on Monday nights (along with many other shows).
Sure the weekend seems so far away. But that’s okay! Because guess what? You have something to look forward to!
Sigh…who am I kidding? Monday will always be known as the crappy day of the week. You’re tired, cranky, worn out from a fun weekend (or still drunk), and all you want to do is fast forward to the day you don’t have to do anything.
So Happy Monday, Folks. May it not suck so bad.
