I almost forgot today is Thursday!
And it would have been a shame not to share the Throwback Thursday Zombie Flick Pick with you guys!
I went into this movie with mixed feelings. I wasn’t completely sure what to to expect, but just as many Indie films do, it pleasantly surprised me. The setting is West Africa, where a man finds himself in the middle of an outbreak.
This film was interesting for the idea of being essentially the only survivor of a zombie outbreak in the middle of nowhere. You would think that with the vast expanse and gaps between villages, you’d be pretty safe from becoming overwhelmed with the walking dead. But think again. You have to worry about walking in the heat without food or water, and really it just means that those suckers could sneak up on you.
Not to mention, these zombies are probably the slowest zombies I have EVER seen. They barely make any noises as they shuffle around, which could potentially be dangerous.
Overall, I enjoyed this movie quite a bit.
Here’s a little trivia for you: Production for this film was delayed do to the fact that the star (Rob Freeman) contracted malaria and almost died on set! We’ve really got to give it to those committed actors!
